THE TUBE AWARDS, THE CATEGORIES
A new platform to celebrate the professionals whose primary assignment is to entertain, educate and inform the general public via the TV Tubes has been unveiled in Lagos.
The unveiling of Tubes award took place on Sunday, 13th February, 2022 in Eko Hotels & Suites. The event was anchored by Segun Arinze and had other celebrities in attendance.
The Tubes Awards is aimed at celebrating and recognizing not just the television personalities who we are familiar with but, majorly those that are usually behind the scenes. This idea was conceived about 20years ago by Niran Adedokun, a PR practitioner, an entertainment journalist cum author, and a lawyer.
In his welcome address, Niyi stated. ”We have got all that is needed to make television in Africa the best in the world, and that’s the mission to which we have committed ourselves. The journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. As they say, we solicit that you join us on this journey to celebrate excellence in television in the African continent. Ultimately, what we watch on TV affects us,”
“When television has transcended from that tube in a box which we return to every night into tablets and phones that we hold in our palm, we must then be concerned about the medium that it feeds us. If we are concerned about the content that we consume from television, we must also consider the people who produce that content for us.”
Sunday Dodo, GM/CEO, National Theatre, applauded Mr Adedokun of this initiative.

– Outstanding TV Director (Live Show)
– Outstanding TV Producer( Live show)
– Outstanding TV Presenter
– Outstanding Male Newscaster
– Outstanding TV Reality Show
– Outstanding TV Documentary
– Outstanding Sport show in TV
– Outstanding Female Newscaster
– TV station of the year
– Tube TV Production of the year
