Seeing actors elude great passion and strong chemistry on screen, we sometimes even begin to think they are real couples in real life. When the stories end with “…and they lived happily ever after..” it leaves us wishing the love story continues going on and on.
How amazing would it be if you can eat your cake and still have it, enjoy the chemistry on-screen and even get to have that chemistry in real life. We at shoots.ng can’t seem to get enough of these Nollywood couple actors. Here’s the second part of our top Nollywood couple actors in no particular order:
PATRICK AND IRETI DOYLE
The dark skinned beautiful actress, writer and media personality Ireti Doyle is married to Patrick Doyle who is also an actor and media personality. Ireti and Patrick Doyle met while she was still in her third year in the university. They met on a movie set with Patrick as the movie director and Ireti as an upcoming actress. The couple is blessed with six lovely children. Ireti has been nominated for the Best Actress at the Reel Awards in 1998 for her role in the movie All About Ere and Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2007 and 2009 for her roles in Sitanda and Across the Niger respectively. Her husband Patrick Doyle on the other hand is a creative filmmaker. He has produced and directed many blockbuster movies in Nigeria. Ireti Doyle and her husband Patrick Doyle were separated for a while but are currently back together .
YEWANDE ADEKOYA ABIODU & ABIODUN ISOLA
Yewande Adekoya Abiodun is an actress, filmmaker and content creator. She began her acting career in 2002 in a music and theatre group, Alphabash before moving on to film in the late 2000s. The first movie Yewande produced was an English content movie titled Life Secret in 2006 and she produced a yoruba film, Igbo Dudu in 2009. Another movie produced by her in 2012, Omo Elemosho starring Bimbo Oshin received 5 nominations at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards. Yewande is married to Abiodun Ishola Thomas who is also an actor, movie producer, brand influencer and movie director.
The couple got married on the 14th of February 2013, and their union is blessed with two children. Yewande Adekoya and Abiodun Thomas celebrated 11years of being lovers and 8years of being married in February 14,2021. The lovely couple is known to share their love life and entertaining content on their social media pages.
PEJU OGUNMOLA & SUNDAY OMOBOLANLE (PAPI LUWE)
Sunday Omobanle popularly known as Papi Luwe is a veteran Nollywood comic actor, playwright, director and producer. Sunday Omobolanle is a talented and skilled actor well known for his comic roles. He is married to the daughter of late pa Ogunmola, Peju Ogunmola who is also an actress in the Nollywood industry. The couple have been together for over 3 decades and still counting.
Papi Luwe who used to work with Pa. Ogunmola when asked how he met his wife , he said; “ Peju Ogunmola’s father was like a father to many of us. When we travel all over the federation for stage play and we are coming back to Lagos, we always branch to Pa. Ogunmola’s house. Then Peju was so young and very pretty. So I was always joking with her that I will marry her. She will say I am not your wife and I will not marry you. And that was how we later ended up together and we have been together for over 3 decades and still counting. So, I met Peju in her father’s house.”
The veteran couple actors have been in the movie industry for a long time and have successfully made a name for themselves in the movie industry .
OLUWASEYI EDUN & ADENIYI JOHNSON
Nollywood actor and producer Adeniyi Johnson is married to Nollywood actress and producer Seyi Edun. Adeniyi first came into the limelight in the most dramatic character he wields in Africa’s most loved television episode Tinsel. His accomplishments can also be attributed to the fact that he is one of the many Nigerian male thespians who can manage characters in both English and Yoruba movies very well.
Before his marriage to Seyi, he was married to another Nollywood colleague, Toyin Aimakhu. They were married in 2013 but the marriage did not last 24 month. He moved on to get married to Seyi Edun in 2018.
Seyi who is also a fast rising actress and movie producer has starred in several movies including ‘ Eja nla’, ‘Ogo Olorun’ and several others. Seyi when speaking about her husband,Niyi Johnson once said ‘ I am glad that I married my best friend (Adeniyi Johnson), and we understand each other to a very commendable extent. There are several celebrity couples who are doing greatly despite their busy work schedules.“
DAMOLA OLATUNJI & BUKOLA AWOYEMI (ARUGBA)
Damola Olatunji is married to his wife Bukola Awoyemi popularity known as Arugba . Damola is a Nollywood actor, producer, movie director and movie maker. Damola Olatunji bagged his debut in the movie “Ojo (Rain)”, which was produced by Opeyemi Aiyeola and directed by Yomi Fash Lanso. He has starred in more than 100 film and has acted alongside superstars like Femi Adebayo, Bolaji Amusan, Peju Ogunmola, Yinka Quadri, among others. He is known for his energetic and versatile roles in movies. His wife, Bukola Awoyemi who is also a Nigerian actor is one of the beautiful faces in the Yoruba movie sector. she has featured in movies such as Poisonous affairs and Arugba produced by Tunde Kelani. Her big break came after her lead role in Arugba. Since then, she has been fondly called Arugba by her fans.
The couple have acted so many movies together and their marriage is blessed with a set of twins.
OLAMIDE OYADEJI & OLUKOTAN ALAN
Olaide Oyedeji is one of the fast rising Nollywood actress in the industry, she is currently married to co actor, olukotan Alan and their union is blessed with lovely kids. She rose to prominence with her role in the movie “Darasen” which was produced by Olaide herself. Ever since she produced the movie, she has featured in many movies.
Olaide is an actress that is based in Germany. Apart from being an actress, she is also a scriptwriter, influencer and entrepreneur.
She has acted movies alongside with many stars like Taiwo Hassan, Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Chatta, Rasheed Yekini and lot more. Her husband, Olukotan is also an actor scriptwriter and producer. He has been in the industry for few years now. The Nollywood actress recently reunited with her husband in Germany after two years of separation. In a post she shared after the reunion she wrote “Alihamdulahi is all we can say. A journey of over 2 years finally ends in praise, don’t worry I am bringing gist and testimony later. Welcome home baby,” . Congratulations are in season for the couple actors as they also recently welcome a new baby boy, Olaide wrote; “ Am a freaking dynamite. Baby is here oooo, welcome to the world okomi”
SEGUN OGUNGBE & OMOWUNMI AJIBOYE
Segun Ogungbe is happily married to two beautiful wives. The actor has revealed that even though he is a polygamist, his home is very peaceful contrary to what the people think.
Segun Ogungbe is the proud husband of two wives named Atinuke Ogungbe and Omowunmi Ajiboye. One of Segun Ogungbe’s wives, Omowunmi, is also a Nollywood actress. Segun Ogungbe is a Nigerian actor, movie director and producer.
Segun Ogungbe is a nephew to the renowned legendary actor and filmmaker, Akin Ogungbe, who passed away on November 28, 2012, leaving behind 20 wives and 50 children. He is popularly known for his blockbuster movie “Ibi Giga”.
Omowunmi Ajiboye is the second wife of Nigerian filmmaker Segun Ogungbe. They got married in 2015 and she also has two children for him.
Omowunmi Ajiboye is an actress, movie producer, and scriptwriter from Ikirun town in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun state. She began her acting career in 2001.
Some of the movies she has appeared in include “Iyawo Asiko”, “Ile Aye”, “Ounje Ajeku”, “Oriki Ife”.
RAZAK OLAYIWOLA & MOJI AFOLAYAN
Yoruba star actress and one of the daughters of late Ade Afolayan a.k.a Ade Love, Moji Afolayan-Olayiwola has been married to fellow thespian, film producer and director, Rasaq Olayiwola aka Ojopagogo for about 15 years now. The couple met on the job over a decade ago and has since been married.
The award-winning actor, director, and producer Rasaq Olasukanmi Olayiwola popularly known as Ojopagogo is one of the oldest in the movie industry. The stage name Ojopagogo was given to him as stage name during a stage play titled “Ola Abata” while he was under her formal boss Labake Theatre. Ojopagogo is the president of RAZOL THEATRE worldwide. Razol Entertainment is a theatre school for all the students with the aim of becoming superstars.
He has successfully trained more than a hundred students under his academy.
Moji is the first daughter of Ade Love. Her late father was also the father of the African best actor/director Kunle Afolayan, Gabriel Afolayan and Aremu Afolayan. The Nollywood actress Moji Afolayan who got married to the multitalented actor, director, musician, and producer Ojopagogo is blessed with children.
Razak speaking on his marriage said, “Our journey has been smooth to the glory of God. There is a popular Yoruba adage that whoever wants to get married must be prepared for the task ahead. The Almighty God brought us together as one, we started the journey with Him and He has always been there for us and we are thankful for that.”
AFEEZ ENIOLA & ESTHER KALEJAIYE
Afeez Eniola is a Nigerian scriptwriter, movie actor, and producer, especially known for featuring in a couple of Nigerian movies like in “Omo oku orun,” and many others. Afeez Eniola who is a popular film maker and actor in the Yoruba Movie industry is Married to his wife,Esther Kalejaiye Eniola who is also a fellow actor in the Nollywood. Esther is known by her fans as “Omo jo Igbo” a name she got from the movie, “Omo Ghetto” produced by Funke Akindele. The couple have been married for over ten years and have two lovely kids together. Afeez in a live session on Instagram shared how he met his wife, he said: “I met her at a dance rehearsal. That was when I developed interest in her. When I approached her, she didn’t show interest in me at all; she was doing ‘shakara’. I chased her for one year and I was determined that I’ll marry her because she made me stress myself to get her. I thank God that we have been together since then. Men should pray to marry women that are like their mothers. If a woman should love her husband like his mother, things will go smoothly. We need wisdom to enjoy our marriage. I believe it is better for entertainers to marry themselves; that’s my personal opinion.”
FAUSAT BALOGUN (MADAM SAJE) & RAFIU BALOGUN
Fausat Balogun also known as Madam Saje is a Nigerian actress who stars majorly in Yoruba movies. Fausat Balogun is married to the actor Rafiu Balogun who was her boss before they married. Fausat Abeni Balogun got her big break when she featured in a television movie titled: “Abeni Ajagun“, produced by her husband. The movie received a lot of positive reviews and its success shot her into the limelight . She starred as Mama Saje in a 1990 television series titled Erin Kee Kee. Fausat has starred in over 80 movies and has had over 50 years of experience on stage and in movies.
Rafiu Balogun is a veteran Nollywood actor and producer. Rafiu is the owner of the “Balogun” theatre group in the 1970s. Rafiu has also featured in several movies.
The couple’s eldest son is a director and their youngest daughter is an actress
