Consequent upon the rumours making round that the chief executive officer of G-Worldwide (GWW) was not impressed with the return on investment of his first shot at film business, Lovers of Nollywood films and stakeholders are demanding the next step for the music manager and promoter turned film producer, Festus Ehimare popularly known as Emperor Geezy after his first attempt with the film Suga Suga in 2021.

Festus Ehimare added to his career by giving the Nigerian movie industry a shot with substantial amount of millions. The music manager, who is renowned for elevating music stars such as Sugar Boi, Kizz Daniel, among others, debuted as an executive movie producer of “Suga Suga”.

The movie which was produced by New York Film Academy alumnus Louiza Williams and directed by Richard Iboyi followed the story of a family torn apart by a promiscuous billionaire father whose whims bring drama and chaos to the entire plot. The romantic comedy featured superstars like Wole Ojo, Charles Inojie, and Christian Paul, among others.

Emperor was born in Ajegunle, Lagos; a place known as the music hub of Nigeria’s afro-hip hop music. In 2007, as a full-time entrepreneur, he diverted into a big investment which happens to be the establishment of G-Worldwide (G.W.W). The label was established to promote young talents but it began its full operation in 2011.

In the past few years, he has conquered the business of promoting music talents and his name spreads like wildfire across various borders on songs recorded by Kizz Daniel, while signed to Emperor’s G-Worldwide imprint. Emperor Geezy was also acknowledged for discovering and building the careers of Iceberg Slim, DJ Shabsy, and Sugarboy. Emperor’s big wins in the business of promoting music talents, and passing same on to the film industry are on another level and a big step in filmmaking. But it remains a puzzle if the music promoter turned film producer will continue to give more cinematic offerings to his teeming fans.
