IT IS A WRAP FOR ROMANUS AMUTA ‘NATTY’

Life is what you make of it, find your own path to fulfillment. It is safe to say Romanus Amuta popularly known as ‘Natty” had a fulfilled life and career in the Nigerian movie industry as he has passed on to the great beyond at age 79.
The Veteran who derived the name ‘Natty’ from the notable but rested soap, ‘New Masquerade’ died on
Wednesday, 9th February, 2022 at a Lagos hospital as disclosed by his first son Chukwuma Amuta in Enugu.
‘The New Masquerade’ was a Nigerian sitcom that aired on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) network from the 1980s until the mid-1990s. It was created and written by James Iroha, who also acted as Giringori
Akabogu.
Natty died after a prolonged Illness. Before his death, the deceased flourishing career suffered a
setback after he had a stroke now in 2009.
According to reports, Natty hailed from Ukana in the Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State and had
worked with Daily Times Newspapers before venturing into the movie Industry. He has also acted in
some Nollywood movies, including ‘Lion Finger’ in 2003, ‘Eagles Bride’ in 2005, and ‘Ijele’ in 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Cordelia, and six children.
